Who We Are
Outward Bound is an international organisation at the forefront of outdoor leadership education around the world. Outward Bound Sabah is proudly offering learning through experience on the beautiful island of Borneo.
Since its inception in February 1985, Outward Bound Sabah has served more than 70,000 participants in our educational training programs. Outward Bound Sabah offers a variety of courses ranging from one day up to 30 days in duration, covering some of the best operational sites in ‘Sabah, the Land Below the Wind’.
Educational Philosophy
Outward Bound Sabah courses are based on experiential learning through self-discovery and challenges. Through authentic outdoor adventure, our programmes are designed to enhance skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication. From team-building initiatives and climbing to kayaking and jungle trekking, our programmes intentionally facilitate challenge in unfamiliar settings, helping participants discover their potential to care for themselves, others, and the world around them. It is our mission to provide every course participants with an enjoyable and memorable experience that will last a lifetime.

Internationally Recognised brand
Outward Bound is known globally as an organisation for its influence on the field of outdoor education. There are more than 38 schools in 35 countries, on 6 continents operating around the world affiliated under Outward Bound trademark. The Outward Bound World Conference and the Outward Bound Staff Symposium is held every two years as a platform to exchange information on best practices and expertise.
Outward Bound Sabah is rapidly gaining its reputation for excellence not only in this country but also from overseas, as many international clients come to attend our programmes. We are happy to have hosted participants from Singapore, Brunei, USA, UK, and Hong Kong. The educational philosophy of Outward Bound has been successfully adapted to the local environment to fit the needs and desires of our local population as well.
