Youth Leadership Course

  Introduction

Using several concepts on leadership such as C.Clinton Sidle, Kouzes & Posner etc participants will be exposed on various leadership styles. The main objective of the program is to understand leadership traits and style.

Combined with elements of challenge, the program will be a unique experience for the participants. Also to review how each core values affect the behavior of leading others to serve, to strive and not to yield. 

Programme Brief Itinerary

All participants will meet at OBS centre Kinarut. They will join other participants (strangers) which will form into a group. The program begins with ice breaking, developing group spirit, sharing a mutual aspiration and setting goals.

The first expedition would be sailing on a 27ft Whaler Sailboat to the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Riding on a waves of the river mouth of Kawang river on return, the group depart for jungle trekking for their next expedition.  

Finally, towards the end of the programme, the final expedition will be to scale the highest peak of Kawang Forest Reserved before descending to the exit point. 

Moment of mixed emotions; sharing the best moment throughout the programme at the farewell party, successful participants will be rewarded with a certificate.

Who is eligible to apply? Male or female between 13 - 18 years old who are physically and medically healthy, who loves nature and its adventure, keen to discover new skills and meet new friends.

The special package DOES NOT INCLUDE the cost of travel to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Participants will have to make their own travel arrangement to Sabah.
