our facilities

Outward Bound Sabah is located on a beautiful ecologically diverse property consisting of 100 acres of forest and beach land. Our facilities take up only twenty-five percent of the land which includes the dormitories for participants and staff, a dining hall, an event hall, office spaces, and all of our outdoor ropes courses.

The location of the school is ideal for trekking and kayaking with direct access to the South China Sea, Kawang River, and its close proximity to the mountains and jungle of Borneo’s Tropical Rainforest. This abundant natural environment provides the perfect backdrop for Outward Bound Sabah’s programmes and activities.

Our Location

The school is blessed to have a base surrounded by the tropical rainforest, which offers exciting opportunities for adventurous hiking. The site is located in the Kawang Forest Reserve, in the southern part of the Crocker Range, and is a 10 minute drive from the center. There are magnificent features in the Reserve such as waterfalls, pools for dips and natural untouched flora and fauna.
